Supporting relief efforts in Nepal

Kathmandu 550x300SM

Like many of you, we’ve found it difficult to watch the emotional images and video from Nepal following Saturday’s devastating 7.8 earthquake.

International aid organizations are now on the ground in Nepal, delivering supplies and support to thousands of people in need. Search and rescue, shelter, water and health are top priorities during this period of continuing danger in the region.

Our experience shows that the first 72 hours after a disaster are the most critical time for humanitarian groups raising money for emergency relief.

As part of our ongoing employee giving initiatives, FrontStream staff in the United States, Canada, and Australia have chosen to donate to the following organizations responding to the earthquake:

United States:
Direct Relief International

Plan International
Room To Read

Canada:
Canadian Red Cross
Salvation Army Canada
Habitat for Humanity Canada

Australia
Caritas Australia
CARE Australia

FrontStream will be matching staff donations in order to maximize our ability to do the most good where it’s most needed. Many of you have already been moved to donate to these or other organizations you trust. Please consider  checking with your own employer to see if your donation is eligible for a corporate gift matching program. Thank you for your generosity and for spreading the word about the urgency of international appeals for Nepal.

If your nonprofit organization is also fundraising for humanitarian efforts in Nepal, we are dedicated to assisting you during this time. Please review our special message for clients providing relief to the people of Nepal.
