They’re small, they’re intricate, and they’re ready to go for a layup on your office desk. They’re Itty Bitty Ballers, a combination passion project and bit of marketing genius care of Toronto Raptors basketball player Jonas Valančiūnas (along with teammates Lucas Nogueira and Patrick Patterson) and webhosting company GoDaddy.
But it doesn’t just stop with 3D printed figurines of Toronto Raptors players (including ones that are half-centaur, or riding a tiny raptor) – all the proceeds from the figures go to the MLSE Foundation. This charity looks to provide access to sports and sporting equipment for children, as well as supporting education and research for social change through sports.
We give Valančiūnas and the Raptors 3 points for their creativity in taking a marketing campaign (which, to be honest, includes some cool figures) and making it worthwhile for charity!
