Immediately following the news of FrontStream’s acquisition of Artez Interactive and GiftWorks, Nina Vellayan, President and Chief Executive Officer of FrontStream, has announced two key executive appointments. Along with these appointments comes the unveiling of FrontStream’s Nonprofit Division, a strategic business unit that serves a client base of over 16,000 nonprofit organizations and houses FrontStream’s family of nonprofit-focused subsidiary brands; FirstGivingTM, Artez Interactive, and GiftWorks.
“The FrontStream Nonprofit Division is an extension of the work that we have been doing for the past several years,” says Vellayan. “Based upon our decision to expand our platform of nonprofit-focused products, it has become necessary to create a new business structure that will help to cultivate those efforts. The Nonprofit Division achieves this by clearly identifying a dedicated set of resources that focus solely on the needs of our nonprofit clients and this growing sector.”
Mark Sutton, formerly the President of Artez Interactive, will assume the role of Chief Revenue Officer and General Manager of FrontStream’s Nonprofit Division and will report directly to Nina Vellayan. Sutton will oversee all day-to-day operations of the Nonprofit Sales, Account Management, and Support teams in the US, Canada and Australia.
Sutton is a pioneer of peer-to-peer and social media fundraising. He has over two decades of experience in online marketing, fundraising, social media, and business development. In 2003, Mark established FirstGiving, Inc., and led the company as CEO from 2003-2008. FrontStream acquired FirstGiving in 2012 and continues to invest in the growth of the FirstGiving product suite as part of FrontStream’s commitment to expansion and growth in the nonprofit sector.
Steve Fafel, who served as Chief Executive Officer of GiftWorks, is now the Chief Delivery Officer for FrontStream and all related subsidiaries. Fafel will manage all aspects of product delivery including the Professional Services organization, integration of all platforms, and seamless implementation of the growing product & service offering to FrontStream’s current and future partners and clients. Furthermore, as the leader of Product Management, Fafel will provide future product direction and vision for all of FrontStream’s business units including FrontStream’s For-Profit and Nonprofit Divisions.
Fafel has spent the last 20 years leading software development teams and product design for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, helping them use technology in creative ways to build products and solutions. After working directly with a faith-based nonprofit, Steve joined GiftWorks in 2004.
“With Mark and Steve’s leadership we will continue to create a culture of customer-centric growth that will not only make us a valuable partner to the organizations we serve but will allow us to deliver the tools that will empower our clients to become more effective than they ever thought possible.” states Vellayan. “This is why I am so excited to have visionaries like Mark and Steve on the executive management team to carry this vision forward.”
FrontStream is backed by a group of investors led by Arsenal Capital Partners, a leading New York-based private equity firm with over $1.6 billion of committed capital under management.
