FrontStream Launches MerchantGiving Program in Partnership with FirstGiving

FrontStream, a national provider of payment and donor solutions, announced today that it is launching MerchantGiving, a pilot charitable giving program that allows any merchant with a web presence to easily add a donation button benefitting the charity of their choice.  This move represents the first merchant-facing product development arising from FrontStream’s recent acquisition of FirstGiving, an online fundraising platform focused on helping nonprofits and their supporters meet and exceed fundraising goals for important causes.

“We believe businesses of all sizes should have the tools to build Corporate Social Responsibility programs that reflect company values and community ties,” stated Nina Vellayan, Chief Executive Officer and President at FrontStream, “We’re committed to combining our merchant services and payment processing offerings with FirstGiving’s donation solutions to the benefit of merchants, our ISO agents and nonprofits. This pilot is just the first offering in an evolving initiative that will help our customers and our partners set themselves apart, all while helping deserving organizations.”

FrontStream has made it simple for businesses to support local and national charities with its MerchantGiving program.  The merchant simply selects the charity of their choice (must be a registered 501c3 organization in good standing), copies a snippet of code, and embeds it on their webpage to create a donate button where customers and vendors can make a charitable contribution, all without leaving the merchant’s site. The whole process takes less than five minutes.

Merchants do not have to be an existing FrontStream customer to participate in the program and participants incur no costs to implement the feature; 4.25% of each donation goes toward processing and program costs. To incentivize ISO agents and channel partners to promote the feature to their merchants, FrontStream is also offering a generous revenue share opportunity to participating partners.

All donations are processed and distributed through FrontStream subsidiary FirstGiving, a trusted name with more than a decade of experience in working with nonprofits. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer this option to business owners, who are already so tied in with the good work being done in their own communities,” said Karsten Robbins, FirstGiving’s Chief Executive Officer.  “MerchantGiving fits right in with our corporate mission of expanding the world of giving and widens the circle of support for our nonprofit partners.”
